About us
Who We Are
Compassion & Control operates under LiorNova Humanitarian Foundation, our registered nonprofit entity. We are a survivor-centered nonprofit committed to restoring dignity, safety, hope and healing to individuals impacted by sexual abuse and sexual violence.
Our approach is trauma-informed, this means:
- You remain in control of your healing journey
- You are never pressured to share more than you want
- Your story is treated with respect and confidentiality
- Care is provided with compassion, not judgment
Why We Exist
Sexual abuse and sexual violence leave wounds that affect the whole person. These wounds may be visible and invisible. Survivors tend to carry these wounds in silence for years because of the shame, stigma, fear and lack of access to safe support.
Safe and confidential spaces are not easy to find and we are here to change that. Compassion and Control was created to ensure that survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence have access to safe and compassionate support without financial barriers.
We believe that every survivor deserves the opportunity to heal in a community that supports and encourages their healing. Through our free services, we walk along with survivors on their healing journey in a peer group facilitated community. Our approach is survivor-centred and faith-based.
We believe:
- Survivors deserve to be heard and believed.
- Healing should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.
- Faith should be a source of comfort and restoration.
Our Mission
To provide a safe and confidential space where survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence can come together in support and healing. We are committed to fostering a trauma-informed environment where every survivor’s voice is respected, every journey is honoured and no one heals alone.
